Champaign Attacker Claims He is ‘Son of Satan’

This week, an Illinois man attacked a woman claiming he was the ‘Son of Satan.’

A Champaign man who told a woman Monday that he was sent to kill her is in custody at the Champaign County Jail.

Aaron Munds, 40, who listed an address on Holmes Court, was arrested for home invasion and attempted murder after a bizarre attack on a woman at a home in Thomasboro at mid-day Monday.

In spite of being choked nearly to unconsciousness and threatened repeatedly with death, the 67-year-old woman escaped serious injury.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Coile said about 12:10 p.m. Monday, Munds knocked on the door of a home on County Road 2400 N where the Urbana woman was acting as a caregiver to her older sister.

The woman did not recognize Munds and asked him what he wanted. He held out a lottery ticket and told her he had been sent to give it to her.

As the woman unlocked the door, he barged in, saying: “I am the son of Satan and was sent here to kill you,” Coile said.

Fred Phelps is Dead, but the Evil of Westboro Baptist Church Lives On

By Tamar Auber @greeninthenews

American media could not help but gloat today as news of the passing of Fred Phelps, Sr. the much-hated founder of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church. “Good riddance, Fred Phelps,” Time’s David Von Drehle remarked, showing little sympathy for the 84-year-old he called “a colossal jerk.”

In the Washington Post, Jonathon Capehart declared that the founding pastor of WBC “was so odious, so hateful that a side-eye noting of the 84-year-old’s death last night is in order,” while Entertainment Wise turned to celebrities for their pronouncements that Phelps belonged in hell (and was most certainly there right now).

There is little doubt that Fred Phelps, the author of one of the most hate-filled campaigns of his generation deserves few kind words. Along with his family, many of the them still children, he picketed funerals and spewed hate all over America with his notorious ‘God Hates F*gs’ campaign, violating people’s lives and co-opting faith for his mission of vitriol.

In the end, however, the hate that spewed from Phelps’ mouth overcame him. His disciple and his sons overthrew their founding pastor, casting the elderly man aside and forming an alliance that was so cruel, even Phelps had called for them to treat others with more kindness.

Removing Phelps from his home and church, all that remained of the pastor in his last days was a shell of his former hating-self in a withered and dying body in a hospice bed-a man who had spent his life judging others and now had been judged unworthy and thrown aside.

Von Drehle called the downfall of Phelps inevitable and the “bright side of a gloomy life, and the reason not to despair over a life like Fred Phelps’s.”

Yet, the casting out of any human being, no matter how vile, should never be gloated over, if for no other reason that it hints at a sinister truth-the evil of Westboro Baptist Church did not die with Fred Phelps; instead it has grown into a monster that ultimately defeated him.

Now, this hate lives in the hearts of a group of male elders of the church that are so willing to feed its darkness that they will sacrifice their founder, their father, and their own children for the cause.

Today, then, marked the end of the life of Fred Phelps, Sr., but the world is not a better place for it.

To make the world a better place, we cannot gloat over the death of a broken old man, but we must call out the monster head-on, acknowledging the pitiful nature of Westboro Baptist Church for what it truly is-a sad, angry family who only succeeds when we allow ourselves to respond to the suffering of any human being not in compassion and love, but with smugness and hate.

Right Wing Rant: ‘America Has Been Claimed for Satan’

America is a Satanic nation and it has been that way for centuries, according to right-wing ranter John Benefiel. In a radio program last week, Benefiel explained that even before the pilgrims crossed the ocean seeking religious freedom, America was already claimed for evil.

Citing ‘spiritual archaeologist’ Barry Fell, Benefiel professed that it was fact that during ancient times Egyptians sailed to the new world and planted statues of Baal, dooming America to Satan’s control for all eternity.

Ted Cruz: ‘Pro-Choice Activists Yelled ‘Hail Satan’ to Silence Enemies’

The Dallas Morning News has reported that Tea Party darling Ted Cruz accused abortion rights activists of yelling “Hail Satan” at a recent rally.

Cruz’s remarks were one of several Satan references made to disparage the pro-choice crowd this week by lawmakers.

Invoking fiery references to Satan, “savagery” and a “culture of death” to criticize their opponents, anti-abortion lawmakers on Wednesday insisted that Republican contenders keep an intense focus on social issues in the upcoming midterm elections and the 2016 presidential race.

Like many abortion opponents, the Susan B. Anthony List is in search of a White House contender who won’t shy from social issues after back-to-back presidential nominees in 2008 and 2012 who focused their campaigns on the economy and came up short. Several potential 2016 candidates were making their pitches in blunt terms, urging the group members to stick to their principles and fight those who would stand in their way.

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said those who support abortion rights favor a “culture of death” and engage in “savagery.”

Sen. Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican who is a favorite of the tea party, reminded the crowd of activists that supporters of abortion rights chanted “Hail, Satan” to silence their enemies during a heated protest at the Texas Capitol.

And former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Southern Baptist minister who ran for president in 2008 and is considering a 2016 campaign, said conservatives must work to “save every life that we can save.”

In the 2014 campaign for the Senate, Republican hopeful Greg Brannon of North Carolina stood by his previous claims that pro-abortion rights groups contemplate infanticide. Brannon, an obstetrician backed by several tea party groups, said that killing babies who survived abortions could happen in America, according to a video posted by Mother Jones magazine.

Right Wing Rant: Liberal Christians, Non-Christians (and Everyone Not Like Me) are Satanists

Christians are the world’s most persecuted group according to right-wing ranter Gina Miller. In an article published on the far-right Barbwire, Miller explains that the reason Christians are so forsaken is because every other religion, and especially liberal Christians, have fallen prey to Satan’s charms.

From the beginning of time, Satan and the other fallen angels (demons) have made war against the Lord and His creation.  It is their sole mission to steal, kill and destroy what God has made and to keep as many people as possible from the knowledge of salvation through Jesus.  In this mission, they have heaped deception upon deception for mankind.  They have created countless false doctrines and distractions to mislead and deceive people into taking the path to Hell.  The world’s false religions—all those whose foundation is not solely the Gospel of Christ—lead to one place:  eternal damnation and separation from God.  This includes false, so-called “Christian” religions that deny Christ as the only Way to salvation, and instead, rely on traditions of men and on works to “earn” salvation, something we could never earn.

The frenzied, irrational hatred people of the world have for Christians is inspired by, and based in, Satan’s hatred for God and His people.  It’s a demonic hatred found in people who have rejected the Lord.  Have you ever noticed that there is not the same deep hatred for non-Christians and non-Christian religions?  Satan doesn’t hate his own work; he aggressively promotes and supports it.  Supernatural hatred for Christians and Jews exists because they are God’s people, the real deal, chosen by Him from the foundation of the world to be miraculously reconciled to Him.  We simply remind Satan of his eternal defeat and the fact that his time as “the god of this world” is short and growing to a close.  He is furious in his great loss.

Pat Robertson: ‘X-Rated Movies May Invite Demons Into Your Life’

Pat Robertson warns his 700 Club viewers that demons could be invited into their lives by watching X-rated movies.

Aging televangelist Pat Robertson warned viewers during his Mar. 11 700 club broadcast that watching X-rated movies could lead to demon attacks. Suggesting the movies serve as a portal for demons to enter into unsuspecting people’s lives, he told a viewer that while it was unlikely, malevolent forces may have caused the viewer’s accident just days after watching a sinister movie.

“I was watching a horror movie the other day of the recommendation of others,” the viewer wrote in to the show seeking Robertson’s advice. “It was rather strange and awfully macabre. And then this past Sunday, I got into an accident leaving church.”

The viewer then asked if the televangelist believed that the car accident could have been caused by demons summoned by the watching of the X-rated flick.

“Did watching that movie cause a curse — or the Lord’s protection to be lifted from me?” the viewer asked. “Did I grieve the Holy Spirit by watching this series?”

Robertson responded that while he did not think it was likely the crash was caused by dark forces, the viewer may have opened the door to demons by watching the movie, a phenomena he knows to have happened before.

“A few years ago I heard about a teenage girl who was demon possessed, and people began to deal with the demon and try to cast it out,” Robertson said. “And you know what the demon said? ‘I had permission.’”

Las Vegas Woman Blames Demons for Drowning Her Son

The Las Vegas Sun reported 30-year-old Christine Allen believes demons took over her body forcing her to drown her young son.

Christine Allen claimed the voices in her head told her to drown her son, Metro Police say.

Allen, 30, Las Vegas, had been lying on her bed Saturday, depressed, while her son Noah Lane Allen, 3, was taking a bath.

Then, Allen told police, it “was like a demon inside of me took over.” She went into the bathroom and asked her son if he wanted to go swimming. At first the boy answered yes. Allen then got into the tub and held her son’s head under water, according to a Metro Police arrest report released today. The boy struggled to get his head above water and told his mother he didn’t want to go swimming, but Allen pushed the boy’s head back under the surface.

Allen was booked on Saturday into Clark County Detention Center on one count of open murder in her son’s drowning. Clark County prosecutors today charged her with murder.

According to the arrest report, Allen told police she suffered from depression and was getting evicted from her apartment at the time. She was also divorced from her husband, who was not offering any support in raising her son.

She told Metro homicide detectives that drowning her son was the only thing she could do because of the voices in her head. She said she felt she thought Noah would be better off with God, rather than part of a split family, the report said.

Emergency responders arrived about 6:15 p.m. to her apartment in the 7800 block of Clarkdale Drive, near Buffalo and Vegas drives, after Allen reported that her son had drowned. The 911 operator instructed Allen to take her son out of the tub to start CPR, but Allen refused saying it was too late, the report said.

Noah was found unresponsive and transported to Summerlin Hospital, where he died.
